Errol Heights is a 16-acre park and natural area in the Portland Parks and Recreation system. The Errol Heights Park playground design is a true hybrid between play and nature and is focused on being accessible for people of all abilities. Design for the park began in 2018 and officially opened to the public in January 2024. In collaboration with Landscape Architect Mayer/Reed, design for the main play structure is a custom Berliner Tower 5 that includes the witches walk up to a playhouse at the top of the tower and a stainless-steel spiral tube slide. The site also includes two access whirls that provide an inclusive and safe cocoon for spinning, and a Terranos low rope course allowing kids to embrace the challenge of rope. These products were designed for 5-12 years old. The rope play truly adds to the look and feel of nature.
