The Shane Park playground in Port Angeles brought inclusive play to the Olympic Peninsula. The community came together to contribute both funds and energy through a number of volunteer organizations to fulfill the dream of local youth activist Quinn Redlin Kintner. Quinn wrote a high school senior project where she illustrated the inability for wheelchair users to access parks and the city of Port Angeles rallied around the improvements. This playground has ramp access, a Boogie Board, multiple types of swings, a Neutron Spinner, and a rubber-tile accessible play surface. Initial planning began in 2008 and the grand opening was in 2012.
