Local elementary school students were key contributors to the design of the play space at Kenneth Leo Marvin Veteran’s Park in Gig Harbor, WA. Students from surrounding elementary schools in the Peninsula School District were shown play structures, particular elements and color schemes and voted for this heavily-used playground which has outdoor musical instruments and a multi-user disc swing, as well as climbers and slides at eight feet tall. Although the building cycle of 2020-2021 came with its challenges, the city of Gig Harbor contracted with Allplay Systems to coordinate a complex installation with three suppliers and four subcontractors which finished on time and on budget.
