The farm-themed playground at Van Lierop Park was opened in the fall of 2025. It honors the long-standing agricultural traditions of the Puyallup valley with a barn, silo, tractor, and “flower” instruments. The design emphasizes use by a number of groups, including differing age groups in the 2-5 and 5-12 play areas as well as an inclusive strategy in both the equipment and surfacing. Partially funded by a Washington Recreation and Conservation Office Grant along with the city of Puyallup, the project took more than five years from initial design to completion.
